Stanford
Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate—and us—know you better.
Everybody has a few quirks that make them unique. For example, when ever I drive through a long tunnel, I see if I can hold my breath all the way till the end. But don't worry, if I'm driving us around, I will be sure not to pass out; but that doesn't mean I will let you win that easily—I can promise you that.
I also have bad vision, a -1.25 to be specific. Although, isn't that why they make contacts? Well you won't see me with my glasses on, or probably even see my glasses at all because I probably won't even have them. Not that I will loose them, but because I just don't like the way they make me feel. When I wear them it's like an invisible barrier that's in my way when I try to do something.
During the colder months I would like to feel the cool soft carpet on my feet. And because I'm from Hawaii, where we don't wear our shoes inside. So I hope you don't mind if I walk barefoot.
I'm not an absolute clean freak, but I do like it when where I sleep is pretty organized and not to cluttered. Don't worry though, it's not like I would go and organize all of your belongings—that's just a little weird.
I would consider myself to have some ingenuity. So if anything breaks or we need to come up with a clever invention to turn the lights off without getting out of bed, I think I can figure something out.
Since, we would be spending a good amount of time together I would love to go on some cool adventures maybe catch a game at the maples pavilion and than go cruising around palo alto, just as long as we don't do anything illegal.
Finally, if you see me laughing or smiling for no reason, I'm probably not laughing at you. Sometimes out of the blue I will remember something that was really funny and for some odd reason it will just pop up into my head later on. One time one of my friends caught the volleyball in the middle of a game and I couldn't stop laughing for that whole week.
So, what are you like?
Good draft of a letter to a future roommate. Although it's pretty good as it is, I feel that you should go more in depth. In your 3rd paragraph, you should start about how you lived in Hawaii then elaborate on carpet and stuff. You also have a lot of don't worry's so be sure to change it up a little. You could also go more in depth about your background and how it makes you the person you are today.
ReplyDeleteI think you should tell your roommate what you are like instead of what they should expect or what you wanna do with them. Also quirk is a peculiar behavioral habit so I don't really think holding your breath in the tunnel would necessarily count as a quirk because it's not really a behavior. Really minor thing i know, but it opens up your letter so it caught my attention. You should tell them their biggest fear or crazy things you do when preparing for a final and why you do it. Stuff like that, but good draft.
