Stanford
Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate—and us—know you better.
2,340 miles. That's the distance from Hawaii–where I come from to Stanford where we will be. Hi, future roommate my name is Kylan N. Tomita and yes, I am from Hawaii. But don't ask me how to surf, because I'm not very good at that myself. Although, I can tell you stories about what Hawaii is like, unless you are from Hawaii as well–which would be even more cool.
Since we both are going to Stanford it's obvious that we both want to excel. So I hope you don't mind if I ask you repeatedly for notes or help with schoolwork. I just have an addiction for getting things correct the first time and getting homework and school out of the way first; even if that means staying up all night trying to get it done. Don't worry though, I will be courteous and I will be glad to return the favor and help you with anything you need help with even if that favor is turning the other way when I sleep so you can keep your light on and finish your work.
Don't be offended if I try to be funny and crack a joke about you once in a while–actually pretty frequently. Just laugh, because I don't mean it in any bad ways. I just like to have a little fun once in a while. I would also like to avoid all conflicts if possible–I am a fairly peaceful person, but if not than I'm sure that we can work something out. I also, like sharing things, so I hope you don't mind if I use your shampoo once in a while or ask for folder paper, we can take turns buying more toiletries and supplies.
I'm also a pretty neat person. Not to a point where you might catch me cleaning your space, but I will organize the room from time to time, and so I hope you aren't to messy. In my house we take our footwear off when we enter. I hope that we can work out a similar agreement and not feel the need to wear shoes indoors. I wouldn't want to track mud right by my bed, nonetheless your bed either.
Well roommate that's a little about me, of course there is more but I'll leave it at that until we meet in person.
So, what are you like?
