Stanford
Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate—and us—know you better.
2,340 miles. That's the distance from Hawaii–where I come from to Stanford where we will be. Hi, future roommate my name is Kylan N. Tomita and yes, I am from Hawaii. But don't ask me how to surf, because I'm not very good at that myself. Although, I can tell you stories about what Hawaii is like, unless you are from Hawaii as well–which would be even more cool.
Since we both are going to Stanford it's obvious that we both want to excel. So I hope you don't mind if I ask you repeatedly for notes or help with schoolwork. I just have an addiction for getting things correct the first time and getting homework and school out of the way first; even if that means staying up all night trying to get it done. Don't worry though, I will be courteous and I will be glad to return the favor and help you with anything you need help with even if that favor is turning the other way when I sleep so you can keep your light on and finish your work.
Don't be offended if I try to be funny and crack a joke about you once in a while–actually pretty frequently. Just laugh, because I don't mean it in any bad ways. I just like to have a little fun once in a while. I would also like to avoid all conflicts if possible–I am a fairly peaceful person, but if not than I'm sure that we can work something out. I also, like sharing things, so I hope you don't mind if I use your shampoo once in a while or ask for folder paper, we can take turns buying more toiletries and supplies.
I'm also a pretty neat person. Not to a point where you might catch me cleaning your space, but I will organize the room from time to time, and so I hope you aren't to messy. In my house we take our footwear off when we enter. I hope that we can work out a similar agreement and not feel the need to wear shoes indoors. I wouldn't want to track mud right by my bed, nonetheless your bed either.
Well roommate that's a little about me, of course there is more but I'll leave it at that until we meet in person.
So, what are you like?

Stanford
Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate—and us—know you better.
Everybody has a few quirks that make them unique. For example, when ever I drive through a long tunnel, I see if I can hold my breath all the way till the end. But don't worry, if I'm driving us around, I will be sure not to pass out; but that doesn't mean I will let you win that easily—I can promise you that.
I also have bad vision, a -1.25 to be specific. Although, isn't that why they make contacts? Well you won't see me with my glasses on, or probably even see my glasses at all because I probably won't even have them. Not that I will loose them, but because I just don't like the way they make me feel. When I wear them it's like an invisible barrier that's in my way when I try to do something.
During the colder months I would like to feel the cool soft carpet on my feet. And because I'm from Hawaii, where we don't wear our shoes inside. So I hope you don't mind if I walk barefoot.
I'm not an absolute clean freak, but I do like it when where I sleep is pretty organized and not to cluttered. Don't worry though, it's not like I would go and organize all of your belongings—that's just a little weird.
I would consider myself to have some ingenuity. So if anything breaks or we need to come up with a clever invention to turn the lights off without getting out of bed, I think I can figure something out.
Since, we would be spending a good amount of time together I would love to go on some cool adventures maybe catch a game at the maples pavilion and than go cruising around palo alto, just as long as we don't do anything illegal.
Finally, if you see me laughing or smiling for no reason, I'm probably not laughing at you. Sometimes out of the blue I will remember something that was really funny and for some odd reason it will just pop up into my head later on. One time one of my friends caught the volleyball in the middle of a game and I couldn't stop laughing for that whole week.

Paragraph Thing
It was the weirdest and scariest moment of my life. I didn't know what everyone was looking at until I looked up as well. It was silver metallic and had a orange-red streak trailing behind it as it flew right above me and the growing crowd of spectators. Than the mysterious flying object came to an abrupt halt mid air, the orange-red streak faded into thin air and than everything grew silent. I felt my heart starting to beat faster and harder, with sweat starting to form on the sides of my face. The glass on top of the silver frisbee like object was all black with no possible chance of seeing what was inside of it. But, then I saw movement behind the dark glass. It was a hand, and it was waving to the crowd, but it felt more as if it was only waving to me. Now my white t-shirt that was under my light blue collared shirt was soaked, and I could feel my heart beating faster than ever before. Then. . . everything went pitch black, but I could still hear soft murmurs in the distant. I focused as hard as I could to make out the distant sounds ". . . Mission complete. . ." and than everything went black.
Today was the most fun I had in a long time. I got to play tag with my friends in the huge, green, open grass planes. I even raced my friends down the huge hills at full speed. I was second place during the race and than at the last second passed my friend Brittney who was first since the start. The weather was perfect and there wasn't a cloud in sight, only the warm sun and cool breeze.

College
UCLA (public) - When I went on a visit the campus and surrounding city felt amazing. It offers tons of majors and many activities to do in the mean time. It also offers 125 majors in five categories one of them being technology and science. UCLA also offers digital media as a minor as well as many other various interesting options.
Pepperdine (private) - It offers science and other majors in case I want to change careers later down the road. Not to mention the location of it, it's right on the beach and has epic views, 24/7 breezes and friendly administrative. Not to mention it being a private school meaning smaller class sizes and more close relations with professors and classmates. They also have D1 sports and challenge UH which is cool since I'm from Hawaii.
Chapman (private) - They have a great film school and media arts program. Chapman is also a private college and so may offer more financial assistance than a public school. Although it is a private school they even have athletics including a football team and a few others. In the school they also have recreational activities like an aquatic center and even a sports center.
Stanford (private) - Just like a few of the other colleges above I went to visit it, and when I did it was jaw dropping. The buildings, landscape and even the walkways were built to perfection. Stanford also has great sports teams which is would be fun to watch on my free time. On the campus they also have a building just for eateries and right across is a big open space where you can eat or do homework.
University of Washington (public) - The feeling of the campus and scenery felt welcoming and had a good location on the west coast. UW also offers many majors form science to performing arts along with it's athletics. Although the cost of attendance to the school is fairly high they offer financial aid and for non residents they help with the flight costs if needed. University of Washington also has great public transportation which means you likely won't need a car.
